On a beautifully sunny autumn day, the final building to be demolished at the Humber Enterprise Park is pictured taking its final breath. Constructed in 1955 to house the design and support operations of Blackburn Aircraft, Building 76 is now being demolished to open up access to building 74.
Peter Hotham, BAE Systems Heritage Volunteer and former occupier of the first floor office located in the NW corner of the building said “I see my old office is finally going this morning – not before time! – it was always a poor building”
Works will begin to clear the demolition site in the coming weeks before a new surface is installed to provide a yard area and un-obstructed access to building 74.
