Today saw the start of the demolition of building 78. Since it was decommissioned by the BAE Systems (Operations) Ltd. decommissioning Team in September 2013 it has stood empty. Constructed in 1956, these offices where the administrational life blood of aircraft manufactured by firstly Blackburn Aircraft, through Hawker Siddeley, British Aerospace and latterly BAE Systems. Whilst instrumental in the support of many aircraft it was mostly used to support the manufacture of the Hawk.
Whilst a sad day, this building had come to the end of its useful life and makes way for exciting new opportunities for the Humber Enterprise Park..
