Into the Archives – The War Years

The image above shows the Brough Site and the Haven during the period of World War II.  If you look closely you can see the camouflage paint that was applied to all of the buildings, production aircraft lined up for delivery and most amazingly lines of air raid shelters dug into the ground at the western end of the site (adjacent to the haven).

This photograph gives real insight into what life was like for both factory workers and Brough residents during the war years.
