Five ways to spend your lunch break at Humber Enterprise Park

24th April 2019

Located in Brough, Humber Enterprise Park is just minutes away from the city of Hull and main transport links to Leeds and York – making it perfectly positioned for the daily commute.

However, Brough itself is fast becoming a hub of activity in its own right. The village is branching out fast, becoming a top social spot in its own right for the young and old.

Looking to relocate to HEP? We’ve put together a list of five ways to spend your lunch break to help you on your way!

1. Go for a pub lunch

Brough is home to not one, not two, not three, but four pubs – three of which serve up a good pub lunch. Heading to the local for some well-deserved homecooked food with colleagues is a great way to get out of the office for some fresh air and a break from looming deadlines.

Choose from The Buccaneer or The Ferry Inn– both of which are located just minutes away on Station Road, or the Red Hawk off Welton Road, which is a little closer to the centre of the village. Each have something different to offer, so why not try them all out?

The local micropub ‘The Centurion’ is also well worth a visit for its friendly atmosphere and range of specially selected craft beer and ales. Located on Skillings Lane, it’s a great place to go for after work drinks with a difference.

2. Hit the gym

If fitness is your thing, take advantage of HEP’s fitness area available to tenants during your lunch hour. Featuring an outdoor gym and a one mile running track, it’s great for those who don’t have time to work out before or after work. Each building also has its own shower facilities for tenants to make use of.

Using HEP’s fitness area is good for burning off steam if you’re having a particularly challenging day, and it’s also a great way to meet and get to know other tenants with interested in fitness and exercise as much as you.

3. Join the Brunch Club

The Brunch Club ‘serves great brunch style food with flair and exciting twists.’ From speciality coffees and classic eggs benedict to breakfast cocktails and chorizo bagels, the team at The Brunch Club have found a real niche in the market for the people of Brough.

Located within Riverhouse Coffee Co. on Skillings Lane, The Brunch Club is just a quick walk away from Humber Enterprise Park and perfect for a long lunch. It’s also a great place to keep in mind for meetings or if you need some quiet time away from the office.

4. Talk a walk

Though just minutes away from the A63, Brough is also blessed with beautiful landscape right on its doorstep, which is ideal for employees that like to stretch their legs during their lunch break. Explore the low hills of the Yorkshire Wolds, walk along the river or take a quick stroll around the village, there’s somewhere to go if you have two minutes or two hours.

Walking on your lunch break is extremely beneficial, especially for those who sit behind a desk from 9-5. As well as helping you to manage weight, walking strengthens your bones, prevents high blood pressure and improves balance, and can even help with mental health.

5. Fish and chip Fridays

Who doesn’t love fish and chips on a Friday? Luckily, Brough is blessed with two brilliant chippy’s right in the centre of the village. Choose from The Funky Fish or 53 Degrees North to satisfy your fish and chip cravings. Both also include the classic Hull patty on their menus for those who prefer something a little different.

There’s nothing better than finishing off the week with an indulgent lunch to celebrate all of your hard work. Plus, its cheap and cheerful so everyone can join in!
